Above are the short hand symbols meterologist use. The symbols include, high pressure, low pressure, warm fronts, cold fronts, stationary fronts and occuled fronts, just to name some of the more comon symbols used. Below is an example of the symbols put together. It says that the temperature is 57 degrees, moderate rain, the wind is 20 knots and so on. These symbols make it easier for meterologist to put on weather maps.
